"Behind The Logos" is a web project by Culture Unstained. The aim of the site is to bring together existing information, reports, research, testimonies and stories from around the world to make the case against oil sponsorship of cultural institutions. They have an indepth briefing on BPs links with Iraq and the Iraq invasion linked to BPs sponsorship of specific exhibitions in the British Museum.
Focus on BP, Shell and Equinor
The case studies focus on BP, Shell and Equinor as the three main oil companies sponsoring UK arts, culture and science education. BP sponsors or sponsored the British Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Opera House and Aberdeen Art Gallery. All three companies sponsor the Science Museum Group. However, cultural institutions around the world are increasingly parting company with their fossil fuel sponsors. Behind The Logos aim is to stop this.
