    Description

Upcoming research by Victoria Harvey for the Center of Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST) shows that senior professionals in the UK advertising industry feel complicit to causing climate change by working for the fossil fuel industry. They tried to persuade management and the advertising association to take a position on high polluting clients, yet invain. They call for the government to ban fossil advertising.

“We are complicit in the advertising industry... we are complicit in the delay [to Net Zero]. We target politicians and financial decision makers to make them think that fossil fuel clients are part of the solution – like, that's in the briefs.”
