Fossielvrij NL (Fossil Free NL)

Fossielvrij NL (Fossil Free NL) is a citizen’s movement that breaks the power of oil, coal and gas companies. Fossielvrij NL is part of the worldwide divestment movement, which started in 2021 in the US. They strive for the end of the fossil era and the start of a climate just world. Around 10 local and thematic groups are active in the Netherlands, deploying creative, strategic campaigns.

After 7 years of campaigning, the largest pension fund of the Netherlands (ABP, 15 billion euro) is divesting from fossil companies. Currently, Fossielvrij NL is campaigning against Dutch fossil bank ING and against misleading advertising from Dutch airline KLM.
