Description

Fifty years ago, the world used international treaties to defuse the threat posed by nuclear weapons. Today, a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty is needed to phase out fossil fuels, support dependent economies, workers and communities to diversify away from fossil fuels, ensure 100% access to renewable energy globally and promote a just transition that leaves no one behind.

An extensive team of organizers, scientists and campaigners is leading the Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty supported by a great network of grassroots organizations, NGOs, governmental organisations, institutions, politicians and (local) political parties.

The Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty is endorsed by Vanuata, The European Parliament, Vatican City, the World Health Organisation, the President of Timor-Liste, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tuvalu and more and more are joining. It aims to be a treaty endorsed by all UN nation states.

FFNPT organized a webinar called 'Banning Fossil Fuel Ads in Your City' in their 'Cities For a Fossil Fuel Treaty' workshop series and encourages cities to ban fossil ads in their toolkit.
