In the municipality of Groningen, the alderman wrote a letter (November 2023) to the council on which ads its want to ban in the next contracts. Groningen will ban fossil, meat, alcohol and gambling ads. The municipality says further steps are needed to ban these advertisements in other places - such as bus shelters.
