Once you burn something, you cannot reuse it. So Neste misleads its customers by claiming in advertisements that their diesel is renewable. That was the complaint against Neste’s ads put forward by Maikel de Bakker. The Advertising Code Committee proved him right. However, Neste objected to the verdict and the watchdog overturned the ruling. Maikel did not put forward a defence in this respect because he lacked the means to do so.
