Description
From October 2023 - February 2024, Werbefrei Austria was running a petition to stop fossil ads and sponsorships in the city of Graz.
The demands were to end of fossil advertising (e.g. cars, air travel, fossil fuel companies):
- on all analogue and digital advertising spaces,
- on and in public transport,
- as well as from fossil-fuelled sponsorship of events and institutions in the urban space or area of competence of the City of Graz.
After the end of the petition, the signatures were handed over to the city government, and further talks about the possible implementations of the demands are taking place.
The petition followed an open letter Werbefrei Austria already wrote in April 2022.
