As of 2024, KLM is no longer the title sponsor of the Urban Trail Series, formerly known as the KLM Urban Train Series. Several climate groups have been campaigning against sports washing in recent years, including in the case of the Urban Trail Series Extinction Rebellion The Netherlands, Fossielvrij NL, Reclame Fossielvrij and Reklaarmee.
